Cultural memories in Gol
| Golreppen A beautiful and protected cultural landscape with Gol church as its focal point. The Stave Church grounds, where Gol Stave Church once lay (now at Norsk Folkemuseum), is also here. Hallingdal Museum Gol at Skaga is and old farm with all the houses that belonged in the old days. Heslafossen Just outside the the town centre, right above the Heslabrua bridge that spans Heimsila, you'll find Myklefossen power station from 1913. This was the first power station to supply Gol with electricity. The area surrounding Heslafossen is historically interesting, and well suited for walks. Renslo In walking distance from the town centre, along a marked walking path, you'lll find the old freehold farm Renslo. The site was inhabited until the late 1960s. |
